Australian Building Code changes for chargers
Changes to the National Construction Code (NCC) now require all new apartments (Class 2 buildings) from 2023 to have the electrical infrastructure to make carparks EV ready. This includes the “provision of base infrastructure for future cabling and control-point installation at the time of construction.” Minister for Industry and Science, Ed Husic. The change comes into effect from October 2023 and means that all car spaces need to have the electricals ‘roughed in’ for future chargers to be installed.
